How It Works
Unlike brain-computer interfaces that require invasive brain surgery, Phantom Neuro's approach interfaces with peripheral nerves in the residual limb. Small electrode arrays wrap around existing nerve bundles and decode motor intent while simultaneously delivering sensory feedback — pressure, texture, and temperature — back to the user's nervous system.
Clinical Results
Early clinical data shows patients can distinguish between different textures and grip forces with high accuracy, dramatically improving prosthetic control and reducing phantom limb pain — a common and debilitating condition affecting up to 80% of amputees.
